--(5407) 1992 AX--discovery and notes:

Primary discovered 4 January 1992 from Kushiro, Japan, by S. Ueda and H. Kaneda, but linked to prediscovery observations from 1951. Also designated 1987 BH2.

Companion discovered in analysis of observations made 7 January-14 February 1997 by Petr Pravec, Lenka Sarounová, David L. Rabinowitz, Michael D. Hicks, Marek Wolf, Yurij N. Krugly, Fiodor P. Velichko, Vasilij G. Shevchenko, Vasilij G. Chiorny, and Guy Genevier. The observations were made from Ondrejov Observatory, Kharkiv, and Table Mountain Observatory. Identification as binary is considered inconclusive.
