Companion discovered 17 November 2001 from Hubble Space Telescope observations by K. Noll, D. Stephens, W. Grundy, J. Spencer, R. Millis, M. Buie, D. Cruikshank, S. Tegler, and W. Romanishin; announced 11 February 2002.
