SOLAR POWER part 7

The correct answer is 42 m2.

The solution is represented by the formula (flux) = (power)/(area), or (area) = (power)/(flux).

Thus, 3,200 W divided by 77 W/m2 = the answer.

Question 7.

Now consider a compact car. Its average power requirement, while operating, is 18,000 W. How much collecting area is needed to provide this power?

Can this fit on a compact car?

(Note that this is the average power requirement. At times, power requirements can exceed 70,000 W, like when the car is accelerating or going uphill.)
