• Wrong: In the 21st century, nuclear explosives are being used to excavate underground living areas on the Moon. One of these accidentally shatters the Moon into large and small fragments visible in the sky for years.

  The gravity of the Moon binds it together with enough energy that it could not be shattered by a nuclear explosion. Also, the yield of a nuclear explosive device is not this difficult to predict: there is an absolute upper limit on its yield that would result from 100% efficiency of the nuclear reactions. The actual yield of most nuclear weapons is 1-20% of this value.
