Shooting attack and hostage taking at Radisson Blu hotel; 170 hostages freed after Malian soldiers raided the hotel; fatalities included 6 Malians, 6 Russians, 3 Chinese, 2 Belgians, 1 Israeli, and 1 American, plus both attackers; 2 soldiers were injured.

Consequences: 24 killed, 9 injured
